after reading alot of posts on this forum, I just want to add that each and every OC is different and responds differently to different drugs available. I was diagonsed in Nov 2002 stage 4 and my doctor was not optimistic at all. So I went out and found a doctor that was positive and felt that my disease could be treated. I am now approaching the 5 year aniversary of that diagnosis and doing very well under the circumstances. After alot of disappointments and treatments that did not work, my CA125 was up to 4000 three months ago. Today it stands at 12 and is steady and my doctor is starting to stretch out the treatments a bit and may allow me some time off. What worked for others didnt for me. what worked for me, plain ole taxol, might not work for others. You have to find the right doctor and find the magic medicaion that will be effective for your OC. I am well aware that the effectiveness of taxol will stop at some point but then I will have to seek out my next miracle drug ( from my mouth to gods ears) , and so on.  I Try to think of this as a chronic disease that needs to be treated all the time

Wow, you're an inspiration. Isn't it wonderful to get to the 5 year mark being diagnosed as stage 4 and have your count at a low 12!!

Taxol is a good drug. It was good for me for 4 months. But it didn't bring my counts down so low as yours have. It brought the counts down a little and kept everything stable.

Now I am on Carbo/Taxotere and its helping so far.

I wonder if Femara would work when you took time off.

Have a great 5th anniversary! Celebrate. Get a good bottle of wine.
