elevated CA-125 along with cyst

by eastoaklane, Mar 28, 2007 12:00AM
Can someone make sense of this for me?  I have 7cm cyst behind uterus--hemorrahgic, "granular" (whatever that means) along with elevated CA-125 (number is 125).  Should I be worried or continue to assume everything is benign?

You need to get the cyst removed...rule of thumb is anything >5cm needs to be removed...... your CA125 is elevated but that can be caused by things other than cancer....still it is elevated...YOU HAVE ONE CHANCE TO GET THIS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME....go see a gyn/oncologist.....that is who you want by your side.....99% of cysts/tumors are benign but mine wasn't....I am so glad I had a gyn/oncologist remove the tumor and do the debulking and staging.....I know getting his expertise at that time in my life has extended my life.  I can say don't worry but that won't help....we all worry....just get the thing out and then decide what comes next.
Peace.
