Both time I have had an ovary removed I was in and out of the hospital the same day.

Hint:  Ice packs on your abdomen after surgery really help.

Hello there...I had a laparotomy on a Wednesday and was released Friday by noon...I was 55 at the time and was walking the night on the day  of the surgery....I think your physical shape and mental attitude makes a difference..took at least a month before I felt back to normal and then I was off to chemo.  Each one of us is different.....I hope all goes well and you are back on your feet quickly.
Peace.

If you are having a laproscopic surgery done, that is usually a same day surgery.  I had a laproscopic surgery done to remove a cyst and my ovary.  I was in at about 8 in the morning and was abale to go home after I was able to eat and go to the bathroom.  If you have to have a laparotomy, you will be in the hospital for 1-3 days depending on how things go.  The recovery form a laproscopic surgery is about a week.  I was able to go back to work 2 days later, but was not able to lift for about a week.  Laparotomy (sp) revovery is about 6-8 weeks.  There will be no lifting anyting over a gallon of milk for at least 4 weeks.  When will you find out what type of surgery and when it will be?  Keep us posted.  Kasie
