Hi There
good advice from Southerngal
you have two issues:
-bleeding in between periods
-pain
with a normal looking cervix, bleeding may be from a change in your hormone cycles or it could be from a structural change such as a poly in the uterus.
pain with periods is commonly from endometriosis. or persistent ovarian cysts
an ultrasound can help sort this out
But you also need a biopsy of the lining of your uterus and some blood work.
You should not be scared to call for results. It may take 4 ot 6 weeks to get a pap smear report back.
But call and find out.
It is important to take a pro-active role in taking care of yourself.
People who check on reports and follow up and ask questions get better care (the squeaky Wheel...) You deserve it!!
take care

Thank you very much.I will keep you updated.
I, too, had very similar symptoms (I am 35). I went to Dr and he recommended a vaginal ultrasound which showed mulitple ovarian cysts ( and he suspected endometriosis). He recommended laparoscopic surgery to remove the cysts and check for endo. I did have endo but it was only on my left ovary (which had been aching for months). He removed my left ovary and tube and "cleaned up" the endo. This was done on Feb 23rd. I am beginning to feel back to normal after having 2 back to back HORRIBLE periods after the surgery. I also had a D&C at the same time.
Maybe you should ask for an ultrasound to see if something is going on. I had light spotting for months before I finally had enough and went to the dr.
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
