hi there
Your risk for recurrence is as close to zero as a person can have
that is wonderful!
best wishes
Yes we were both so lucky to have Ovarian Cancer diagnosed early what symptoms did you present with. I am being seen every 3 months I like you get anxious before the Appointment but I know the cancer was caught before it had a chance to spread and that does help me. I have changed my eating habits keep to a low fat diet take lots of exercise mostly walking and cherish life with my Husband and family. My main concern at the moment is the abrupt Menopause I cannot have any HRT the flushes insomnia etc etc are getting me down. My Consultant has referred me to a Menopause Consultant to try and help me. Best Wishes Scoob
Hi Scoob,
It looks like we both were very lucky that our cancer was caught early. For the first year following my surgery I had check ups every 3 months, now I go every 6 months. Physically I feel better than I have in a long time, I'm eating right, exercising and losing weight...my biggest problem is anxiety. A friend of mine had a hysterectomy one month after I did, and her cancer has returned with a vengeance. It's really knocked the wind out of me...that and my approaching Dr. appt have me feeling very nervous. I try to focus on how much I have to be grateful for, but try to be understanding of my anxiety as Dr. appts approach.
Take Care,
Erika
Thank you for your reply- I feel much better. I have check ups every six months and so far, so good. My 2 year check up is on Monday, and I feel the anxiety building...I suppose that's normal.
Again, thanks!
Erika
