can any1 help me out plz

hi i had posted earlier 2 .last month i had my period late by 17 days .i went to the gynac and i found out i have an ovarian cyst of 33 mm though my thyroid is normal and no pcos my dr advised me to loose wt be4 planning a baby.im into it. i have a problem that my periods have become 10 days long although first 2 or 3 days i have light spotting but im worried wat cud be the reason.im gonna ask my gynac 2 but i want advice frm u people.wat cud be the reason?previously it used to be 5 to 6 days long.wat shud i do?

HI,
Excessive bleeding during menses can be due to endometrial hyperplasia, fibroids, ovarian cysts, hormonal imbalance etc. Medications and weight reduction may help. If necessary a D&C may be done. Consult your gynaecologist for an evaluation.
