Pain after Laparoscopic Dermoid Cyst Removal

Hello!  I had a dermoid cyst the size of a small peach removed from my left ovary about 4 1/2 months ago.  I am still feeling the same kind of pain and discomfort I felt before the surgery.  Especially during intercourse and before the 1 period I had.  I am wondering how long the pain will last?  How long until I stop feeling the discomfort?

OK, I didn't know your ovary had that much work done on it.  What your doctor said is correct....you need more healing time.  And the strenuous activity didn't help either.  Just be patient, and it should get better eventually.

Well that's not what I wanted to hear!  I actually just had an apt with my doc and he said he wasn't surprised at all that I still had some discomfort.  He said it would probably be a while because he had to "repair my ovary from scratch" whatever that means.  Although at the check up he did not do another exam or ultrasound so I'm still paranoid.  But the pain is not contant so I will wait it out a few more months I guess.  But I do know he's a wonderful surgeon and as far as strenous activity I did do some a few days later unfortunately.  Thanks for your reply!

There should not be anymore pain 4.5 months after surgery. There is something else causing the pain. Did you give yourself proper healing time with no heavy lifting or other strenuous actvity? Could there be another cyst? Did the surgeon botch the procedure somehow? In a perfect world, you should be feeling great after this much time post op.
