Hi! I had surgery last week due to the same problem, mucinous cystadenoma which grew quite large so they removed my right ovary as well. Result of the frozen section is benign and nearby organs were not affected. A portion of my omentum was also tested and result turned out ok. As explained by my OBGYN/Oncologist, mucinous cystadenomas are benign in nature but they have the tendency to grow very big and will require open surgery. It depends on the size really. Normal levels of CA125 should be 0-35 U/L but having a result higher than this does NOT mean a person has cancer. Consult an OBGYN/ONC right away to get a better view of the situation. Good luck and good health!

Hi,
I had a mucinous cystadenoma on one of my ovaries that was discovered during my surgery. It is considered a benign tumor that can grow to be quite large. It is cured with removal of the cyst and sometimes the ovary if it has overtaken the ovary as many of them do. Did she have surgery to have it removed? That is really the only way to tell that it is what you say it is. Let me know..Take care and try not to worry

I can't really answer your question, but wanted to bump it up so maybe someone else will see it that can. On the right hand side of this page, are the Health Pages. If you click on that and then the Cysts, maybe you will find some information that will help. Hope someone comes along to answer your question.
