Hi Nat,

I had major surgery to remove a 13cm cyst and surprising was walking around pretty soon i had 12 metal stitches which werent painful like i would have thought. I was in a lot of pain with the cyst though so when i came round having no pain was great! You just need to take it easy for a few days. after 2 weeks i went on holiday with my girls mates couldnt drink but it was best thing i did took my mind off what had happened! I was 20 at the time so i wouldnt worry your be fine!

It sounds like you should talk to your doctor more so you know better what to expect.  From what I understand, most people need a lot of support for at least a few weeks, if not months, depending on the severity of your surgery and how quickly you recover.  I would expect you will would barely be able to walk for the first week, and hopefully get a little better each day in the following weeks.
