What will my menstrual cycle be like after laparoscopic surgery?

Hi!

I am 19 y/o, recently had a laparoscopic removal on 12/15 of a paraovarian cyst, which had sat on my right Fallopian tube and had twisted on it, causing it to die off. I had both the paraovarian cyst, as well as the right Fallopian tube removed via laparoscopic surgery. I am currently on birth control (microgestin 1.5/30) and due for my period today. I am having little cramping, and I am used to my BC periods happening at an exact time of day, each month. If I end up missing this month's period, is that normal following my surgery? I have read other women's posts about late/missed periods following laparoscopic surgery, but they are not on birth control.

Since you're on birth control, it would seem that you'd have a "period" when you take your week of inactive pills.
