surgery for ovarian cyst concerns

Hi. I am looking for some support from anyone who has gone through what I am about to go through, or who may have some advice to give. I am a 26 year old female and I am scheduled to undergo a laparotomy this Monday (in two days!!!) in order to have an 18cm ovarian cyst removed and even possibly the ovaryif necessary. I am terrified. For one, I am obese weighing 330 lbs and am only 5 foot 2. I currently have a cold that is affecting my breathing and have to take Ventolin at times. I told my doctor this but they simply told me to tell the hospital administration when they call me tomorrow to give me the time of my surgery. Will they even be able to operate? someone said they may have to do spinal anesthesia kind of like an epidural. I am just scared to go through this and not be at my healthiest. I am currently doing something about my weight issue and have lost 20 lbs so far. I have gone completely off of dairy and fatty meats and am eating a ton of fruits, veggies and high fibre foods.Still am quite heavy at the moment though.

Say a prayer for me :-).

Well I had my surgery. I did very well, recovering fine, it was a 20 cm cyst but they removed it, made a bikini incision, and saved both my ovaries! I had a really great doctor, stayed in hospital for 2 nights and went home on third, the incision is a bit of a pain when you are heavy like I am but I just blow dry it several times per day and it is doing fine!
