Hi Peggy_lee,
I am not quite sure if the two are related, but we are in the same boat. I have an undifferentiated auto immune disorder and my doc thinks that not dealing with what he says is prolonged ptsd is possibly part of the culprit. They cant seem to figure out exactly what my body is attacking other than the autonomic nervous system. My ANA counts are pretty high and i have two different ANA patterns, but i dont really fit into any of the classic auto immune disorders.
The body has a strange way of dealing with things when we try to not deal with stressors.
the best treatment i have found for PTSD is hard physical exercise. I dont get along well with medications.
I don't have a answer about the meds. My primary diags. is BP but I also have PTSD I use mood stablizers for the BP
Talk therapy, I have done several styles. But I am pretty much always engaged in so type of therapy, one on one or group.
In most of my group settings there is always a compelling sig. in the relation of Fibro. and Ptsd. 8 out of 10 will have Fibro. Interesting
I am not certain what the best meds would be perhaps a doctors opinion would be good check out the experts forum for anxiety meds, good luck
