I am experiencing severe burn sensations in my legs. It is especially worse in the evenings in my right leg when lying down or when being too long on my feet. It completely feels as if someone has just emptied a cup of boiling water on the area. It would come very suddenly and then disappear just as suddenly but would come and go during the course of the evening to the point where it would wake me from a deep sleep. I am taking medication for High Blood Pressure and Cholestrol. I have also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.

Good day Mark

Apologies for only responding to you now!

I have been on holiday and did not have a look at any e-mails, etc. Tried to completely relax before starting with slavery again...lol.

Thank you so much for your response. Your explanation of nerve damage sound more like it, because I was hospitalised some time in September 2011 and my right side suffered some trauma to the point where it was quite weak with me not being able to move properly. Dr's suspected a stroke but I will get clarity from my Physician next week.

I will defnitely try your advice in the meantime.

Keep well!

Barbara

Honestly it depends on where exactly the pain is located. I may be 19 but I know tons of things medically lol. If the pain is located in the thigh it could be Meralgia Paresthetica, meaning a large nerve in your leg is being compressed. Symptoms for that are usually the burning in one area. The burning may also be accompanied by some tingling, but not in some cases. The groin may start to ache or you could aches and joint pains in any part of that body. The pain could extend down as far as the knee, but in most cases it just stays in one area. To treat it, relax a little more with a cold compress for about 20 minutes or so then switching to a warm compress for another 15 minutes. The doctor may also give you a cortizone shot in that area to ease pain.
If it's in the lower legs, it could be nerve damage due to the heat or cold or a problem with blood circulation. I would try to massage the burning area in a circular motion with the tips of your fingers. If you start to feel numbness or tingling in the ankles or feet you need to get to a hospital right away. I really hope this helps you out
