Chiropractor Experiences, specifically with Cervical issues

Looking for some feedback on what people have gone through with a Chiropractor. As you may know I've got some C6-C7 disc issues, possibly worse now since my last MRI was a year ago, and I have a new one coming up.

I've heard from family that some of them with neck disc issues had them fixed by a Chiropractor. I've heard here and there that it can go wrong and make the problem worse. I've tried everything else, and I'm going to try this before I go to my last resort, surgery.

I will agree with tuck on this one. I've been to many chiro's, none provided any real solutions(although they wanted me to fork out alot of $$$ every week). seems good for them. DO's are simply better trained and educated. better to see them i think.

If you have underlying medical/structural issues I would suggest consulting with a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) instead of a Chiropractor. DO's are physicians with the same training as MD's with the addition of Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). It is incorporated into the training and practice of osteopathic physicians. With OMT, osteopathic physicians use their hands to diagnose illness and injury and to encourage your body's natural tendency toward good health.

Their manipulations in my opinion are far gentler, safer and obviously performed by a physician. If it weren't for my D.O I would not function.

It is true if you get a chiropractor who really does not know what they are doing or are inexperienced it can make things worse. With people who have chronic pain from back/neck injuries it is very easy to make things worse even with one wrong move. I would make certain your chiropractor has experience and that he/she feels it will help and NOT harm you.
