My doctor abruptly stopped pain meds after 20 years, where do I turn for help?

I have been on pain meds since my first back surgery in 1996. I have never had a problem with medication before. My dr.had been writing all prescriptions for the last five years, he just told me in  June, that I didn't pass a drug test in April.I did go to my doctor and explain to him that I tried caring for my sister during the time he indicated, and she mixed my meds with hers, and my sons. We had no idea until my son became ill. I had no warning that she would ever attempt to mess around with medication, this was my first time watching her since her dementia got worse. Now no doctor will help, even if I have never experienced anything like this. The physical pain is intolerable, and the mental anguish from this kind of pain is debilitating. I need help immediately. Four back surgeries, with more titanium than I have ever seen, and the nerve damage has limited my ability to walk anywhere without falling. Is there any help out there?

There are other methods and medications to treat nerve pain aside from opiates.
Did you advise the doctor about the medication mix up when it occurred? Or wait until you were told about the failed test?
Why was your sister able to get yours and your sons medications within her control of she has dementia and requires assistance? That could have resulted in overdoses or deaths for all of you.
As Chronic pain patients, we are supposed to keep physical control over our medications, no excuses, they can become deadly if gotten into the wrong hands.
As far as another doctor being willing to prescribe opiates, that may not happen, or not for a long while.
These days, any breaking of the rules makes it extremely difficult to find another doctor willing to take on the risk.
