Clonidine and Oxycodone 30mg generic for Roxycodone

I am working on getting off the pain meds and put on something less addictive, My choice. My doctor has me trying 0.1mg Clonidine along with all the other stuff I take. He told me to break them in half at first. He was saying I should not get sleepy from this. Is this true? Also I take 1 30mg tab in the morning and halves to little less than half  about 2 or 3 hours there after of the pain med. When is a good time to take the Clonidine ? Any advise would be great thank you.

I just called my Pharmacist and he told me to take the half a tablet 2 times a day at the same time everday and I can take it right with the pain meds. I hate being on all these meds lol... I saw a post about someone saying they had the opposite effect of the tiredness, has anyone else had this effect?

Yes I am working on tapering off the pain meds. It is not working so well right now due my Phych. putting me on Strattera for ADHD and I had to stop it due to the fact it was cutting down on the effectiveness of the pain meds. I am almost thinking my main doctor is using it for the ween down from the meds and in place of a ADHD med till the phych. can get me on something different. My main doctor is trying to work with my phych. but has trouble getting a hold of him. And I can not spell to save my life lol so bare with me ...

I was not aware that clondine was prescribed with narcotics. I learned something new today:)
I would strongly suggest you speak with your Pharmacist about this. They are very well equipped to answer this question and have the medical  knowledge to instruct you when to take the clondine for best effect. I would think it should be taken at a different time than your Roxicodone completely.
Please call your Pharmacist, this is what they are for.
We are not Doctor's here and have no medical knowledge other than our own experience so I feel it is best to speak to a qualified professional for something this important.
Please let us know what they say and how your doing too:)

Hello,
I have had Clonidine before, but never while I was actually on opiates, I was prescribed it when I would go cold turkey to help with withdrawal symptoms.  Are you tapering and this is why the doctor gave you Clonidine now, to help alleviate those symptoms during your taper or while you switch to another med?  I don't think it would make you as sleepy if you are taking a half, and while you are still on the other meds but you may notice a little difference.  I suggest you try taking it at night.
