Constant inaccurate information

Just thinking about after answering my last post about nurses that are continually providing inaccurate information.  My pmp nurse Erin told me three times that the prescription that my pmp dr. had written was for 22 days, when I knew it was for 30 days.  It's just another one of those mis information that is being continually provided in that office.  I dealt with three days of playing phone tag with the nurse, and then treated rudely and not allowed to get a nurse paged or leave a message for my dr. nurse.  Just wondering if I should unofficially bring it up in my next dr. appointment. I definitely don't want to make my dr. mad, but just having to deal with information that is incorrect is not good.  What do you guys think?

Karen:  My response in a nut shell: YES!  The doctors are not always aware of problems with the front office and the nurses.  I know you are a tactful person and will approach this in the appropriate manner.

Hi Sweetie,

I would if I were you. BUT you MUST do it VERY carefully and KINDLY!! For instance:

Dr. ?, I had a problem last time I was in and I was hoping to get some advice from you on how to get it corrected. I had a problem with my prescription and had some difficulty getting thru to you or your Nurse, I'm SURE that it was because your staff is so VERY  busy, however I REALLY needed to speak with one of you, how should I go about it in the future.

Something like that so that you AREN'T blaming ANYONE!!! If you blame someone then you will REALLY have problems there. Also before you leave your appointment BE SURE that the script is written PROPERLY next time NOW that you know that there is a problem. I've NEVER had a problme with my scripts BUT I ALWAYS check them before I check out and set my next appointment so that I can straighten out ANY  problem should there be one. Do you get a "hard copy" of your script for you to take to the Pharmacy? Or is it faxed to them by your Dr.

As a matter of fact last time that I was in there the computers were down and they had to write ALL of the scripts BY HAND.  When I check in I ALWAYS have to list the Pain Meds that I take and I ALWAYS list my Celebrex that I get from my PCP along with my Fentanyl and Percocet. Well that's what they went by and they inadvertently wrote me a script for my Celebrex and because I looked BEFORE I left I was able to hand it back to them and let them know that they aren't the ones that give me that script that is comes from my PCP. They thanked me and tore it up on the spot.

I hope that this can help you in some way in the future.

Good Luck and I'm anxious to hear what they say.....Mama Sherry

I don't want to cause any issue with my dr. but the three days of phone tag, then being told inaccurate information about my prescription that should have been right in front of the nurse, just makes me think hmmmm?  It's a great thing that I haven't been taking 2 pills every four hours except for yesterday and today, otherwise I'd have a real issue of running out early because of the nurse telling me to take two pills every four hours.  But when I go see him next, I'll make sure he writes the extra just in case so this never happens again.  I won't be confrontational because he's a great doctor and I'm happy to have the doctor that I have.  I don't want to get anything filled early because of  any red flags, I just want to do everything by the books that is legal and straight so NO one can come back on me and say I did anything inaccurate.
