The doctor you are seeing would be the one to ask for a refill. Most doctors will not give prescriptions for opiates unless you are newly injured or an established patient of their practice.

I agree with you. Most pharmacys will not refill early. It up to the rules of your insurance company and your Dr order on the script. Most allow that 95% of the script be used which is q28days.

Hi. I use CVS.  They usually refill up to 48 hours early.  If you have a special circumstance, such as you're going on a long trip (this has happened to me as I travel a lot and not always to places with CVS or other pharmacies near by) they might fill it early with your doctor's approval.

I agree with Ashelen - if your prescription says it is supposed to be a 22 day supply, then it would be available to be refilled (providing your doctor has written the script with available refills) on day 22.  This is not just with CVS, this is with all pharmacies.  The rules and regulations for filling narcotic medications are very strict and there could be severe consequences if the scripts are filled early - not only for you, as the patient, but also for the pharmacy and possibly the doctor who prescribed the meds.

Sometimes pharmacies will permit you to refill a presription one day early, but to my knowledge, not earlier than that.  However, this may vary depending on the pharmacy and also your insurance.  Some presription coverages do not permit for ANY early refills at all.

I also agree to please take the meds as prescribed and request the refill on the date it is due.  If you are finding that your current dose is not adequate for your pain control, you need to speak with your doctor and see if he/she can either change your meds or increase the dose.  Please do not adjust your dosing on your own - it can not only be dangerous, but could also get you into some serious trouble.

If your refill says 22 days, they will refill it the 22nd day after you filled it. However, very rarely they'll fill it 2-3 days early. It depends on the strength and the frequency of your prescription. If, for instance, you are prescribed 5 a day and you run out 2 days early, they're not likely to fill it early because that means you took 10 pills when you shouldn't have, but if you take it say twice a day and you run out a day early, they're more likely to fill it. Make sense?

please take it as prescribed, fill it on the refill date, and you won't have to worry. best of luck!

doesn't sound like you get a refill. that stuff is addictive and it will screw your pipes up badly!
