Wow. 12 30mg oxycodone a day? Who ever this doc is needs to be reported.
I am on a pain contract. You cannot get your meds early for no reason and never receive the same med from another Doctor. The pharmacist who told you to waste them was wrong. It has to be disgraded by the pharmacist or the doctor in front of you. One a pain contract has been violated your doctor will never order Amy more narcotics.
I think she just called her refill in early and he wrote it. It seems as if he did not even look at his records to see it was early. The odd thing is about this doctor giving that high of a dosage... I know another person he treats who is on the same dose.... When he wrote me my script that last time he said to me..... " now your on this medication for your dental pain" I told him....No Doc for my back pain from my car accident. He did not even know why he had me on this medication. IS that not ODD? So to sum it up... He must have wrote her script without even looking. As for that high dosage.... I really do not know why he has us up that high. He had me at 6 a day and when I told him it was not working the whole day he doubled it. I am honestly puzzled why he would be giving her the methadone if he wont write he the oxy. She even asked him to help her wean off the oxy... he does some odd things. Thanks for your reply
Hi,
I am so sorry you and your wife are going through this. I have to say that the amount your both prescribed is very high. I have never heard of anyone taking 12 30mg oxycodone a day. I am really surprised at the amount the Doctor is giving you.
That said the Doctor does have the right to discontinue treatment if he feels you broke your contract. What I do not understand is you said your wife called in for an early script and the Doctor refilled it. So why did he not tell the Pharmacy he did authorize the early refill as he did refill it?
The Pharmacy can refer anyone over to the DEA, I suspect the reason they wanted to do so was the unordinary high amount she was taking and then needed an early refill. the fact that she lost her pills and the Doctor did refill it early was lost by someone.
I do not think the Doctor will change his mind as he said he can lose his license. I have to wonder if he is under investigation with the amount you two were prescribed. I am not saying you are wrong or your wife with taking that amount as it was prescribed to you but understand that amount is really unheard of.
If he refuses to treat your pain or your wife's then it may be time to find a new Doctor. Be aware though I do not see another Doctor prescribing that amount.
As far as her breaking the contract I can't see where she did as the Doctor did refill the medication early.
Normally when a paitent breaks the contract the Doctor will not prescribe anything at all. I am surprised the Doctor did give her the methadone.
Please do not misunderstand me, I am not ridiculing you for the amount of medication your taking just pointing out it is a very large amount.
Normally a pain management Doctor will prescribe a long acting medication with a break thru medicine.
I suggest your wife speak to him in person and explain that HE did refill it early and the pharmacy should have been told so.
I hope things work out for you both:)
Just to clarify..it is a primary care doc not a PM doctor
