should i be worried about using Fentanyl Pain Patch?

my doc wants to put me on these because the hydrocodone i am taking doesnt seem to be working very well anymore and i am worried because of the bad things i have read about these pathes.
i am also wondering if i am going to go through the withdrawals from hydrocodone if i switch to these patches?

OH and I LOVE the GATOR! I am too a Gator fan all the way!
I got to go to a few football games here in Gville this year and quite a few Basketball games with my son:)

Yes there is an oxycodone product that is extended release and has no Tylenol
( Oxycontin). I was actually wondering why your doctor did not try this or another ER medication before trying the patch. I am taking the Oxycontin and it has worked well for me. I also started out on hydrocodone.
I believe it would be better for you as it is in a lower class than the Fentanyl. ER versions of oxycodone and MS Contin and others in this class is usally used before the fentanyl.. Talk to your doctor about one of these drugs and save the patch for when/if you need a stronger medication than the ER medications

AS far as withdrawal form the hydrocodone I believe that you will not have any problems with that since the patch is a much stronger narcotic.
I would suggest that you talk to your doctor extensively about your concerns. this could be the drug that helps you and to be honest you need to stay away from the hydrocodone because it does contain Tylenol and taking this for an extended period of time is really bad for your liver and can/will cause damage that is irreversible.
The patch is used by alot of members here and they say it has worked wonderfully for them but as we all know what may work for one does not always work for another. If your comfortable with your doctor and trust his/her judgement when it comes to your health then I suggest trying it. You will get other responses from those who do use the patch:)
