Having a breast biopsy on 3/28/16

Hello out there, an anyone that has please let me know if having a breast biopsy is painful when the needle goes in.And does it just go in once? or in other areas of the breast as well? Ok, enough questions, I'm just really stressed out about  The doctor I asked all my questions too, well she didn't have much of a bedside manner. She told me it was really going to hurt, until I'm numb. I have what she called is a mass on my right breast. And wondering for how long I will be tender/sore? It really hurt when she did the ultrasound, I don't know why she's so rough. She's kind of like a robot, and having someone like this doing the biopsy gives me more anxiety. I asked my doctor if she could give  me something to take that day for anxiety, she said no. I thought doctors are here to help us. Sorry, getting off the subject, my mother, aunt, best friend all had breast cancer and have been cancer free for years.(Thank God)

First I want to say I am sorry that your doctor treated you that way, it seems as if doctors now a days have lost some of their bedside manner. No it doesn't hurt at all for them to treat you like an actual person and not a object, but they seem to do it anyway.  And I'm really sorry you have one of those doctors that shows no compassion.
My mother had a biopsy done on her breast and said it was a breeze just pressure from the actual biopsy, I have never had my breast done. But I have had my throat biopsied and we compared notes.  And it was exactly the same for me, a prick from the numbing needle, after that I only felt slight pressure, the thing that was nice is that they talk to you the whole time explaining to me what they are doing. It made it less scary , they also had a pathologist in the room , to make sure the slides were good. The pathologist let me know that it actually looked OK, but he would not say for sure ( he could get in trouble) it would be a full week until I got the lab results. (I should say I asked the pathologist how it looked and pressured him to tell me how they looked, crying).
I was very nervous about my biopsy and scared about the results but it ended up being easy. I will be praying for you and hoping that you have peaceful time during your biopsy and praying for a good outcome.
