Ehlers danlos

I am 9 weeks pregnant and have ehlers danlos hypermobility type 3 as well as snapping scapula syndrome fibromyalgia and a bulging disc in my neck. I have been on Vicodin for about 5 years and it has seriously increased my quality of life but I am afraid of taking it while pregnant. I tried to stop when I found out but I could barely get out of bed. Between the vomiting and pain I have become very inactive which makes things worse. I don't know what to do. I have already quit taking lyrica because I don't trust it. Any suggestions? I'm desperate. My husband and I have wanted a baby for 10 years but I have been to afraid to get pregnant but it was unexpected. I want my baby to be healthy but I also want to live through this. I have already started to get depressed. Thanks for any help.

Honestly, I think you should talk to your doctors about it, both your OB and your pain doctor. Together, they should be able to come up with a plan that will allow for you to take some pain meds while still keeping the baby healthy. Its no good to have you in pain constantly which as you said is causing depression and can possibly cause blood pressure problems which can harm the baby. I've known people to take it when absolutely necessary and the baby was born perfectly normal and healthy. I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on the baby!
