Come on over to the Substance Abuse form, my friend. We'll take care of you over there.
There are some GREAT folks in this forum (PM Forum) that care very much about folks like us (addicts), but this isn't the forum you need to be in for assistance detoxing... come with me.
I'll show you the way!
So, do you have a physical injury? If not, then there is a great addiction forum here. You go to the top of the Chronic Pain Forum page to "Forums." Then, scroll to "Health Forums." Then, click on "Addiction:Substance Abuse."
As for tapering, can you talk to your doctor about it? There is a recipe called "The Thomas Recipe" that I have read about and it seems to help many people get through the pain of withdrawals, but I wouldn't use that until I first talked to my doctor.

Have you ever tried to taper off of them? It works for some and for others they just have to quit and deal with the withdrawals. What you're feeling is rebound pain. Your brain has blocked pain singles for so long, when you stop it's sort of a shock to your brain. The rebound pain will go away. It's not a forever pain and usually lasts a few days to a week depending on how bad it it. When you go through withdrawal you will feel flu like symptoms as well as body aches and muscle aches.
Im in pain because im addicted to them. My body will hurt so bad when I dont have them I know it is all in my head and that I need to stop but it is so hard. I just need to detox and really dont know how.
May I ask what you are taking them for? Are you having real pain because you are not taking pain meds? Have you spoken with your physician about this? Is there something else they can give you for pain that isn't a narcotic if that is what you want to be rid of?
