Why does Oxycodone show in a urine test for Hydrocodone

Husband & I have been taking Hydrocodone for over 10 years.  New doctor, urine test showed we both are taking Oxycodone also.  We have never taken Oxycodone.  WHY?  I just went & paid out of pocket for an urine test.  Oxycodone did not show..

They are two different drugs and they metabolize into different substances in the body. They should not come up as oxycodone if you are taking hydrocodone.

Thank-you.  The first time we went to this doctor, he was supposed to be a "Family Doctor".  Now find out he only knows Drug addiction.  The first urine screen he took was 2/27/2018.  Thought it was funny, it took less than 5 minutes for him to have the results.  The results came from Suboxone Clinic.  Which is a drug rehab place that they send people to, to get off of  Vicodin, Xanax, Esgic, & others.
March, my husband was to take another urine test.  So we decided to find a different lab to have it taken.  Ended up having it screened in the same building, only this time a the main lab.  Oyxcodone did NOT show up on this screening.  Sounds fishy to us.
Sounds like they did a rapid test, which are often the cause of false positives. Glad you and your husband opted to get a different test done, at a lab.
There are far too many issues of false positives and negatives in rapid in office tests, which is why confirmatory testing is typically done by an outside lab.
We quit the doctor that gave us a rapid urine test.  He had me in his office by myself. (Usually my husband goes with me) & I left crying.  He kept badgering me as to why parts of my body were in the pain I was in.  Then he cut 2 of my meds down.  One without telling me.  The PM doctors office we went to, doesn't get along with where we get our imaging done.  Now I have to find a new Family Doctor & PM, I guess.  Any ideas what to do?  Husband needs his BP meds filled
I would start with a new Primary or GP. Have them make the referrals to a new PM doctor. They can review your medical records and confirm results, which should help shorten the process.
