You'd have babysitters in Boston, too!!!  Just sayin' :)  I'm delighted for you and I hope she continues to thrive and bring you all such happiness and joy.  This Christmas will be so wonderful for all of you.  (I have two late November babies and those early Christmases with them were especially joyous!)

My very favorite thing about a new baby is that true newborn time.  I used to love the middle of the night feedings.  Especially when I had more than one child.  There was no better feeling than knowing all my other little angels were sound asleep and safe in their beds.  The doors were all locked and all felt right with the world.  I'd be feeding the baby and just get lost in looking at every little part of them (I love looking in their eyes and I love the bridge of their nose.)  I'd start thinking who will you be like?  What will you want to do?  And ultimately I'd just pray that life be kind to them.

Hopefully you're feeling okay, Bree.  Can't wait to see a picture of your sweet baby girl!

I'm so happy for you! Congratulations! You are such an inspiration to me, as I REALLY want to have a baby. I'm so very thankful that you have been updating throughout the pregnancy, as you are (I'm sure) helping other women with chronic pain who want to have a baby have hope.

Hugs, and I can't wait to see pictures.

Thanks,

Flower

I finally have another moment so I wanted to respond to everyone individually.  I went in order of posters in this thread.  If I left anyone out, please forgive me.  It may be the lack of sleep or the lack of brain lately, lol.
I also wanted to mention that for the most part, my pain has been under control.  There was one Nurse Rachet, but considering I had about 10 nurses, I figure that's not so bad.  I also made a point to stop Nurse Rachet dead in her tracks and demand better care.  It's something I would not have ever done without knowing I had all of you behind me, supporting me, and saying "Take that, Nurse Rachet!".
I have had issues with MY PM, who doesn't seem to realize I just had major surgery and am taking care of a newborn and so suggested to the hospital doctors that I be on my regular meds...?  Luckily they decided the at least give me around the clock pain control with my regular meds, so I am just taking it as easy as possible and am very blessed to have a wonderful husband who has been my personal nurse and secretary from the moment we entered the hospital and hasn't stopped.
The baby is wonderful and perfect.  I really hope to get the pics up so that you can all see.  I wouldn't wish the struggles on anyone, but in the end, considering all, she is worth all the struggles.  She is remarkably good and sweet and I can't imagine a better little baby.
Once again, Thank you, everyone!  I appreciate you all so much and I know I'll have to be offline a lot but I hope to be online a little more soon.

houseofgirls-  Thank you for thinking of and praying for me and for starting this thread for me!  Your reassurance and expertise about C-sections was so helpful to me through it all.
Mama Sherry-  I will always be grateful for your love and support as I went through this pregnancy.  You have been so reassuring and supportive.  I wish we had moved to AZ, if for nothing else than to be close to my dear adopted mother.  You really are such a wonderful lady and I am blessed to know you!  Kaelghn is blessed to have you as her adopted grandmother as well!
Gemini, aka Honorary Aunt Ra-Ra-  Thank you for helping me get through it all, especially at the end.  You were such a support to me and I appreciate you listening to all of my crazy fears and worries and helping reassure me.  You don't know how much I needed it!
Ashelen-  Thank you for being the spokeswoman for me when I couldn't be on here.  Thank you also for sharing your experience with me, supporting me, and reassuring me!  It really has been a tremendous help to know someone who has been through it all successfully!
deadgamegirl-  Thank you!
Sandee-  Thank you for being there for me from the very start.  Your strength through your pregnancies was an inspiration to me and helped me to know I wasn't alone with all the worries and stress.  You are such a strong lady and I appreciate you!
Jaybay-  Thank you!  You're right, I can hardly believe I've "crossed the finish line" so to speak.  You're strength in dealing with the pain and meds has been and will continue to be an inspiration to me as I go through my pain journey.  You are an extraordinary woman and I'm so glad to "know" you!
peekawho-  Thank you for messaging me and sharing your "inside information" about the L&D floor.  It really did help me in dealing with the nurses and it gave me the strength to demand good treatment for the pain.  You  are so helpful to so many people here, and you probably hear that a lot.  I just want you to know that you really helped me through my worries about L&D nurses and I will never forget it!
Mellie- Thank you!  You are always to sweet to everyone here and I appreciate your encouragement.  You have always been there with kind words during the hard times and the good times.
Tuck-  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!  I thought of you all while I was in the hospital and I felt all the love and prayer.  I don't know what I would have done without this community.
Opus-  Thank you!  I am going to try to get some photos up as soon as I can figure out which computer/device hubby uploads them from.

I'm so glad to hear that she's so healthy and that the delivery went so well.  I know how worried you were about it all.

I hope you're able to get your pain levels under control again real soon - try to rest as much as you can and take care of yourself and that precious angel!

I am so happy for you!  I am glad that she is healthy, as a mom I understand the worry you went through having to take any kind of meds during pregnancy.  You have been an inspiration thoughout it all, helping other pregnant women on MH deal with being pregnant and in pain management.

I haven't seen pics of her yet, but I am sure she is just beautiful!  Congrats to you and your family!

Love, Ali

Thank you, Everyone for your prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes.  I really don't know of a better group of people to have as a support group!

Kaelghn Aria was born at 10:58 by C-section (so no exciting labor story there).  I didn't feel a thing, even though they said I might feel pressure, etc.
As soon as they got her out of there and her lungs all suctioned (they have to do these things differently with the c-section babies) she cried well and strong.  I was instantly in tears because I had been told that her cry may not be strong with the meds I'd been taking throughout the pregnancy.
They did all the tests while they were stitching me up and Daddy got to bring Kaelghn out to see the family for a minute.  She was absolutely healthy and well.  I just can't tell you enough how much worrying I did about whether or not she would be healthy.  Most of you know because I have been worrying to you in PMs about it all.
I can't do a long update right now but I just want everyone to know she was and is very healthy and showed no effects at all from the meds.  The pain control was difficult and still is but I am dealing with it.
I appreciate you all praying for my and OUR MH baby.  She is perfect and I have felt amazing about how wonderful everything went.   You all told me through the hard times that it would all be worth it and it really is worth every bit of it.
I wish I could respond to you all individually, and I hope to soon.
Thank you all for everything!
Love,
Bree

So glad to hear there were no ill effects to the baby. Kaelghn is a beautiful name.  I hope you can get lots of rest ... probably not too likely but hopefully you can sleep when the baby sleeps.  I can't wait to see a picture.  I really wish my brother would have another baby!!  (As   much as I love them, I'm too old and my oldest just started college, so I definitely don't want grandchildren until she's through school and well established.

What a wonderful gift you have.  I do hope your pain is being well controlled.  I hope you'll be doing a fair amount of posting about Kaelghn's progress as she grows.

I heard from Bree today!!! She sent me a msg on FB so I just copy/pasted what she wanted me to tell you all so you can hear in her words that all is happy and well :).

From Bree:

"Hey, Ivy! Please let everyone know that Kaelghn (like kay-lynn) was born HEALTHY with NO ill effects or withdrawls. Her apgar score was 9 and I have been nursing her exclusively since they were done making sure she's perfect. The pain has been difficult to manage but we're getting through it all. I am also trying to get all the rest I can but haven't gotten much so no time for computer. Just checking in with FB on the BB as I can. "

She wanted me to update everyone, and I know that she'll be here sharing stories and pictures as soon as she's able :).

CONGRATS to the new mom and dad!!  I hope everyone is doing well - happy, healthy, PAIN FREE (or I guess I should say PAIN CONTROLLED as I know you can't be pain FREE after surgery!)

Looking forward to seeing pictures and getting all the inside scoop as to name, weight, length, exact time of birth, etc.

Bree - get some rest and cherish this newborn time - I know it's tiring and sometimes frustrating when they're crying and you don't know why, but it really does go by so fast that soon you'll be wishing this time was back again.

((((HUGS)))) to you all,

Robyn

I've been thinking of her all day.  I cannot wait to see a picture.  Newborns are my favorite!   No one in my family has had a baby in a long time.  I hope Bree gets plenty of rest.  It's a tiring time but that true newborn phase lasts such a short time.

I can't wait to hear the details ... definite order of the names, weight, etc. I hope everything went easily for Bree and the baby.
