Just checking in

Hi All.  I've been a member here for a long time, though over the past year or so I've been less active.  I have a range of pain issues ranging from severe arthritis, fibromyalgia, RSD and herniated disks in my neck and lower back.

In May of 2014 I had brain surgery for an aneurysm, which, thankfully, I had a great outcome with very minor deficits in my hearing and balance.

I see some very familiar names and there's some people I see haven't posted at all in a long time.  Hopefully their CP journey is over for them somehow.

I figured now that I'm posting a bit more here and there, I'd reintroduce myself to the long-timers and introduce myself to the newer members.  This is such a great support site with a wealth of knowledge  from so many brilliant people.

Hi. I'm fairly new to the Pain Forum but I'm so happy that I joined and have met so many wonderful people here.
I'm glad you're back on the forum. How have you been lately? Is your pain under more control? I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. Chronic pain is just awful.
You're so right. This is a great support site.
Take care. It's nice to meet you.

Thanks.  My pain is under fair control.  I just saw my PMP yesterday.  He thought I should see a surgeon for my neck but I told him I don't feel physically up to a big surgery after having the brain surgery a year ago so I'm going to see about a steroid in the neck to buy me some time.

It might not be a bad idea to see a surgeon to go over your options. I can understand why you wouldn't be ready for another big surgery. If you have the injection I really hope it gives you some relief. Will this be your first time having this done?

I'm sorry to hear about your aneurysm. I'm happy that you survived all of it and have returned to us.

Hello Mary!

From what I can tell from all the positive things said on here by others you must be a very special person. Very nice to meet you. Thank god your aneurism was caught in time and was able to be corrected. Unfortunately I've got quite a few relatives who weren't so fortunate. Hopefully your neck problems are temporary and you get some relief soon. Stay strong!

Oh Mary, I was so sorry to hear everything you've had to endure while I was away from MH!!!!  I will say, if EVER the adage applied, "that .BAD things happen to GOOD people" it certainly applies in this case.  :(

I'm  (actually ALL of us) are so happy that you came out of this ok.  If anyone can endure it, it would be you.  You've always been a strong person and I'm so glad to see that you are back.  You've always given such thoughtful and great advice.  I'm happy that our community will have your input once again.  :)

Again, I'm so glad your back and alright!!!....Mama Sherry. :)
