abdominal/chest cavity pain

I am known for not wanting to go to the doctor.  I am currently experiencing abdominal (for lack of a better classification) pain, ongoing for the past 3 days.  It is felt more generally in my chest and radiates to my scapulas and back..... My dad died from ulcers but I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac.  Is this something I should get my husband out of bed to take me to the ER for?

I agree you really need to get checked out. Like Molly said pain is the way the body tells you something is wrong.
I knew a guy that thought he had heartburn so he ignored the pain and his wife went outside to check on him and he told her he don't feel good at all and then fall down and died from a heart attack well she started to freak out and had a heart attack right there on the deck when he died.  I am not trying to scare you but it is very important to see a dr when your having health problems or in pain. The wife is still alive and doing well but they couldn't save her husband.
Let us know how your doing.

Well, I'm not sure how old you are but I would think you should probably go to the ER.  There are so many things it could be from something minor to major.  And women very often have atypical pain when having a heart attack.  Men often have the more "classic" pain and symptoms, but sometimes women have very different symptoms.  And since you do have some pain in your chest and back, I think on the safe side it would be best to go to the ER.

Please keep us posted.  And please go.  None of us like going to the doctor and the ER can be even worse!  But if you go in with chest pain, you'll be seen right away and won't have the typical long wait ERs often have.

YES, or...see a Doctor first thing in the morning. You never know what it may be. Pain is a way of telling you that there's something wrong.

Good Luck,
