Hello irishply,
Do you, by chance have an IUD in place? If so, call your OB/GYN ASAP and have it removed! Years ago I had the exact same thing happen to me...the IUD was beginning to perforate my uterine wall.
If you don't have an IUD, you could have pulled a groin muscle...lifting one of the kids or even straining while using the bathroom. Until you can see your doctor...apply warm compresses to the area, alternating with cold and take a non-aspirin pain reliver. Its also possible you are a bit constipated...?
Urgent Care clinics are open during the holiday, if you have health insurance to cover...seek attention from them.
I wish you the best in finding out what is going on.
Hi Irishply,
Welcome to our Pain Management Community. We know how very difficult chronic pain can be... and I am sorry that you are experiencing it. It must be especially difficult when you have two young children to care for.
How long have you had this pain? Do you have any other symptoms?
There are multiple reasons for this type of pain from a female issue to a spinal structure on. It's interesting that you don't feel the pain when you stand on one leg. I doubt it is "gas." However I am far from an expert.
It certainly bears a clinical evaluation. I wish I had better suggestions for you and I am sorry that I don't. However because you can barely stand up you might want to consider a trip to an Urgent Care Clinic. As the 4th of July Holiday is upon us it may take some time for you to get into see your PCP. I'd hate to think you would be in pain for four or more days.
I wouldn't ignore this pain. Have it evaluated and please let us know what you discover.
Take Care,
~Tuck
