Medication Coverage (we live in OHIO Clinton County and city of Blanchester

I have CareSource as my current insurance coverage and was given  pain medication in the ER last night after having a liver biopsy done earlier that morning. I went back to the ER per my Dr's orders and they did not want to put me on anything that had any tylenol as to not inflame my liver any further and I needed to know if this drug is covered by our insurance: It is OXYCODONE HCL 5 mg PO and instructions are to to take one by mouth every 4-6 hours as needed for pain with a total of 15 pills prescribed. Also they wanted me to do a follow up with him in the next 2-4 days instead of waiting till my next scheduled appointment on the 8 of July.

Hi tjones,

First, I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad that you have found our Forum. I need to be sure that you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum ONLY CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that try to help each other by sharing our experiences.

I'm sorry that you had to have a Liver Biopsy and I hope that everything turns out OK.

As far as what is covered by your CareSource Insurance you will need to check with CareSource to find out that information. I'm sorry but we have no knowledge as to what the different inurance policies or state policies cover. I'm sure that on the back of your card there will be a number for you to call with any questions. If by chance that number isn't the one that gives this particular type of information, I bet that they can give you the correct number to call.

I'm not sure if you are asking something concerning that fact that you are to go back for a follow-up in the next 2-4 days instead of your scheduled appointment on July 8th but if I wee you I would be glad that I didn't have to wait until the 8th of July to get my results. I don't know about you but I hate having to wait for my test results. It just drives me crazy!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you will get a good report when you return for your test results. I wish you the very best and I hope that you will come back and post and let us know how your appointment went and how the test turned out.

We will keep you in our thought and prayers....Sherry

Hi:

You will have to call your Insurance co. to find that information out. There is nobody here that can answer your question.

Good luck,
