If it was me, I'd be honest with my doctor. I've had two occasions where I've been short of medication. One was when I somehow packed my prescription in with my uncle's when he was leaving here to go back to Ireland, and the other time was when my ex-husband stole some from me. Both times I was honest and both times my pills were refilled early so I didn't have to cut back.
I guess it depends on how you feel your relationship is with your doctor. Have they done pill counts before? I've never had a pill count, though I've had a urinalysis done. My pain contract does not mention pill counts or being called in unexpectedly.
Let us know what you think you'll do and how it turns out.
I've never had a pill count, either, but I have heard some people have or have doctors who say they will in the contract. I would definetly be honest with the doctor as well. I have had a pain management contract in the past that said they would not replace missing or stolen meds. I didn't really ever had a problem with that, though.
