What can I do about a burning stomach?

Good Day,
I am experiencing occasional (3+ times a day) burning at the top of my stomach. It lasts for a couple pf minutes, then goes away. It doesn't bother me when I'm standing or laying down and does not appear to be food related. I've taken Pepcid, Pepto Bismol (separately, of course) - it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Hi and welcome to our community of chronic pain patients.

I agree  with Sherry.  My Non medical opinion is you need to consult a GI.  Or you might consider going to your primary care doctor to rule out other problems.

Good luck and I do hope others will be on later.

Good Evening,

I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad that you have found our Forum. I want yo to be aware that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that share our experiences with other people on here.

I'm very sorry for the discomfort that you are experiencing in your stomach. It might be to your benefit to consult with a Gastroenterologist and have some testing done, i.e. and endoscopy of your esophagus and your stomach and be sure that everything is ok. You might be having some acid reflux or something along that line.

There will be others on here later or tomorrow that may have some suggestions for you also.

I hope that you are able to find out what is the cause of this discomfort. It would be great if you would update us on what you have found out as we are concerned about how you are doing...Sherry
