Nightshade allergy and Pain??

I'm going to keep trying until I find the source of my pain.  This has been a 6 year journey and I think I may be a little closer to solving my problem.  Anyway....this started Monday when I ate lunch and had a steak, potatoes and a salad.. pretty good lunch right??  About an hour later I became dizzy and lightheaded, chest pain and every joint in my body hurt and had all kinds of muscle.  This lasted 5-6 hours...it was misserable.

Over the past 7-8 months I have changed my diet to eliminate gluten as this protein can cause all kinds of inflamation and other problems.  Well all of my meals have been gluten free which is why I am so frustrated as to my pain situation.  The constant in all of my meals has been tomatos and potatoes which are called Nightshade plants.

I ran across severl websites saying one of the major allergic symptoms of nightshades is muscle pain, joint pain, confusion, dizziness and being lightheaded.  All of which I have.

Anyone else experience this?  I also posted this in the food allergy forum but have only had one response.  I realize this is the pain mgmt forum but I am in pain all the frickin time and am hoping this could be the reason.

Hi Tropical Soul,

It is good to hear from you again but not good to hear about your pain. My heart goes out to you,

I do not have the allergy issues with food that you do. I have to admit that I know little on this subject. But I wanted you to know that you have my empathy.

I admire your courage, your strength of conviction and your attitude. Don't ever be discouraged for more than a minute and never give up.

I wish you the very best.dear heart.

Hi Tropical,

I have Celiac Sprue and am supposed to have a Gluten Free diet but haven't done a lot about this as yet, since my symptoms aren't particularly aggressive as of yet. Right now, I'm just trying to get ready for my Hip Surgery in September. AFTER that I'm going to start being MUCH more aggressive about this.

Have you discussed this with your Pain Dr.? I wondered what they said about this? I'd be VERY interested to know!!!

I wish you the VERY best and look forward to your updates on this.....Sherry
