Hi Pet,

Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us but very sorry to hear about your undiagnosed pain. Most of us know how very frustrating it is to have no real answers.

I assume you have had an MRI of your spine which was negative. If not I encourage you to request one to make sure that the abd pain is not referred from a structural issue of your spine. I would also hope that you have had a HIDA Scan to rule out Gallbladder Disease. I know that it is located on the right side but it is not unheard of to have symptoms on the opposite side.

Yes I have heard of opiates making you more sensitive to pain. It's not common but it does happen. We are all different and therefore our systems react differently to medications. There is actually a name for it...but it escapes me at this late hour. In fact I just heard of it today and had it explained to me.

It's also true that our condition can just deteriorate and the pain increases. Physicians have difficultly sometimes recognizing the difference. A good one will consider all possibilities.

Sometimes a change in opiates can make a huge difference in your pain levels and pain control. If your pain is not controlled and is indeed worse I would suggest that you request a trail and error of medications to find the right combination that works specifically for you.

My heart goes out to you....I know how very distressing this process can be. Please be assertive and take an active roll in your pain management and diagnostic process. I have found it important and very helpful to be part of this chronic pain community. Our members are informational and supportive. I hope you will take advantage of the support and comradely we offer. I'll look forward with interest to your updates.

Take Care,
~Tuck

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this pain.  Isn't it frustrating when your Doctors cannot find an answer?  I HOPE that your PM {Pain Management} Doctor will continue looking into it for you and come up with a diagnosis that will give you the answers that you seek.  :)

Is your PM Doctor able to help you with your recurring pain?  I HOPE that you are getting the relief the you so rightfully DESERVE!!!!

I hope that others will post and maybe have some suggestions as what else to look for.

We will look forward to your updates on how you are doing...........Sherry :)
