Pain management contract

I was recently entered into a pain management program for severe lower back pain. I signed the pain contract and agreed to abide by all the rules because I am tired of living in excruciating pain. I had been a marijuana smoker about twice daily up until the time that I signed the contract. Since I signed the contract I have not used marijuana at all because getting adequate pain relief is much more important to me. Now that you have some background info I will get to the point...my question is if I test positive for marijuana even though I haven't touched it since the day I signed the contract, is it possible that I may be kicked out or do you think my doctor will understand and check me again in a week or two to make sure the thc levels dropped?  They can't expect me to have known about the contract ahead of time, can they?  Should I be honest and straightforward when I give the urine sample and just tell him that I had smoked prior to signing?  I have done everything 100% by the rules since that day.

Thanks for sharing and posting such good information. Most of us do not have Legal MJ available to us in any for form.

This is an old thread and unfortunately Wfortney is no longer active.

I hope you'll begin a new thread (question) and share with the community. Old threads are not often viewed. You'll obtain better replies - and this info will be seen by more if you will be so kind as to place it in a new thread.

Thanks,
~Tuck

I am legally in a medical mj program and I do not smoke. I use the CBD spray, but now they stopped making the one that actually worked for me.
I am going into a NEW pain mgmt office and they have the contract and every (3) months of screening,
I am going to put the MEDICAL MJ card and the bottle of SUNRISE SPRAY on the table on day one. They actually cannot refuse me since I am abiding by the law. I am showing that I tried other things, before coming in for the KADIAN I use to get, before that doctor retired.
I do not smoke anything that is available because I have never even smoked cigarettes.
Sanjay Gupta was on CNN and he is a known doctor who advocates CBD products for PAIN.
Dr Kost is on the medical marijuana board, while he also runs a PAIN CLINIC. I am not going to his office because his staff are rude.
Once I get into this new pain clinic, I am going to DC this SUNRISE spray.
I will test positive the first time, but at least they will see that I abide by the rules and am in a LEGAL program that is for people with chronic illness and injury.

.....because (sorry it booted me off) he expects to see it for awhile but they should start going down. So as the old saying goes honesty is always the best policy, especially the direction this medical need has taken.,.they have -0- tolerance...Good luck I'm thinking you should be fine...my opinion only

I would have definately thrown it on the table preferrably the day you signed the contract only because obviously your aware if you've been a long time smoker that it takes FOREVER to get out of your system. But at your next visit I would open it up immediatly and then they are aware your levels will drop but it will show up. Personally I don't smoke it, but my sister does and her doctor says as long as her levels drop they are fine and dandy...bevause

Be open with your doctor, tell him your past, and your future. I'm sure he'll understand.
