Hi MNNarcy,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. You've asked a good question that is best answered by a pharmacist. I know a bit about the medications.

Prednisone and prednisolone are often used interchangeably. However prednisone is activated by the liver into prednisolone. Therefore prednisolone is often prescribed for ppl with hepatic problems or disease because it is more easily absorbed. But check with your pharmacist for a more detailed explanation.

I hope that helps. Take care and I hope you will soon be feeling much better.

Peace,
Tuck
