Hi Dreed,
I am so glad your story had a happy ending. It speaks highly of the relationship you have built with your PMP. I have that same relationship with my prescribing physician. And I over did on the holidays. How can you not?
I'm glad you joined us and hope you will remain an active member of our community. We're all in this together and I for one find this journey eased by the support and information I receive here.
Welcome to you! Tuck
At least you know that you have a decent PM doc. Not everyone gets that. At the moment i'm only dealing with my GP who has only known me 6 months, but he has my records n stuff and he's pretty decent and tries to make a difference. We've all done what you did (myself have done it many times over the last 10 odd yrs. If they believe you really are in pain they usually help. Though many of us have a lot of difficulty and embarrassment about it for some reason. I'm my own worst enemy in that regard. Glad things are good!
just got back, he said i probaly overdid it with the holidays and took care of me. he thinks i need to look at limiting myself more to help ease the problems. thanx all for the support.
That happened to me this past month as well. I called my doctor and explained it to him so he allowed my prescription to be filled a few days early. As long as it is not a regular thing they are usually pretty understanding. I think in a lot of cases the cold weather affects pain patients also and most PM doctors understand that.
thanks, i feel embarassed about it as i have always just sucked it up when it was bad. i was due to go in next monday but am trying for today. he has been real good to me so i may be just worrying myself sick for nothing.
I would just tell him, people who have chronic pain sometimes need more meds on some days and less on others. he might give you a few extras for the really bad days or something for breakthrough pain. I think being honest is the best. take care and keep me informed...
