Hi Beth

Let me ask, have you been refered to a pain management clinic or Doctor?

If you havent you may want to ask you PCP or whatever doc your seeing for a referal.  They dont just prescribe meds, but they would probably want you to get CT or MRI's if they feel you may need them.  Pain specialists also do alot of procedures which can improve back, joint and neck pain so it may be worth a look into.
Some back pain can be associated with many abdominal conditions such as Irritable Bowel, Interstital Cystitis and Endometriosis.  Not everyone has the same symptoms when it comes to medical conditions so you may want to mention a possible correlation to you doc.
Your mentraul cycle can be an indication that there may possibly be a problem that you just arent aware of.  Cycles have a tendancy to kick up latent abdominal problems because of hormone changes in your body.
I hope this and everyone elses suggestions has helped you a little.
It took my doctors a year to find my Interstital Cystitis and Endometriosis,
If you know and feel there is something wrong keep trying until you find the answeres.  We know when something just isnt right in our bodies.

Hi Beth0.  Have you ever had any procedures done to your back?  Have you ever had an epidural injection, either for back pain or to mitigate the pain of childbirth?  The reason I ask is because there are problems that can arise from these injections that can cause a great amount of pain.

Um, sk123, I think you might be a bit confused.  This is the pain management forum and absolutely is an appropriate forum for asking questions relating to pain and the treatment of that pain.  Perhaps you had this forum confused with another one.  It's easy enough to do, there are so many of them available now.  :)

I don't know where ski123 got the idea this isn't a medical forum.  Of course it is.  You post whatever you like regarding pain on a pain forum, and your question is entirely approriate here.  I'm just sorry I don't have the answer.  But many women with unexplained pain related to their periods subsequently find they have Endometriosis.  Is this something that has been suggested to you or you have considered?  Post on their forum too if you wish.  I hope you have not been put off using the support available on these forums by one ignorant answer.  Wishing you well.

You should probably post your question in the Back & Neck Community:

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/63

This forum is not the place to ask Medical Questions; it's only for suggestions on how to make MedHelp better.
