Your poor daughter. I was wondering has anyone looked at the possibility of endometriosis? Has she ever had pain with her cycle, if so THAT IS NOT NORMAL! If you are interested in checking out if she has endo, do not go to a general ob/gyn they do not know enough. You need find an endo specialists. I recommend contacting the endomeriosis association to find one near you. If you are in Illinois I can recommend a great one.

Their contact info is at the bottom of the home page.
Also has she had her thyroid checked if not you might want to look at getting her a thyroid panel-- TSH, free T3 (some doctors think that this is obsolete, they are WRONG), thyroid antibodies, and free T4. If you get these tests be sure to get the results-- do not take it is in range; the range is WRONG. The range is 0.4-4.5 or 5.0 but a good doctor knows that if the TSH is near 2.0 then it is likely that the person has a hypothyroid. I was diagnose with a hypothyroid with a TSH of 2.35. If you are interested in finding out more about the thyroid I recommend the book "The Thyroid Solution"

I hope this helps,

Thank you for the information, sorry for what you have gone through, I live in Ohio and I have taken her to the Cleveland Clinic. The pain started after her cycle about a week after, she has been in pain for going on 4-weeks now. She goes back for a follow up CT to see if anything has changed. I will talk with them about the endometriosis, I had a friend years ago that went through this. Also I will bring up the thyroid.
My fear has been the big " C " we have had several family members in the past few years that have not done well with that as of late, for the most part breast cancer.
She has had what she calls stabbing pains almost every two hours today.
Thanks again for your input!
You're welcome and please let me know how it goes. If you want feel free to send me a message through medhelp.
