Hi Craig:
Please visit the Gastroenterology Forum. You didn't mention which side your pains are on but right-sided pain that radiates to the chest and back is sometimes indicative of gallbladder problems.
You are in enough pain to seek answers here so, it's better to be safe than sorry...get yourself checked out. Visit your primary care physician. Regardless of your age, you should make sure it's nothing serious.
All the best to you and yours,
Sam
Hello Craig and welcome to the Pain Forum:
Tuckamore has some really great advise. I do agree with her that it could be a torn ligament, tendon or bruising. Playing rough sports such as yours can cause internal injury that you might not be aware of.
I think it is in your best interest to have a Doctor eveluate your pain. Be on the safe side.
Take care and good luck, Happy Holidays as well.

Hi Craigy826,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp. I am sorry to hear that you are in pain. Your Mum may be 100% correct. However because you participate in such active sports you may have actually pulled a muscle, tendon or ligament. Bruising can also cause discomfort.
If your pain continues I would encourage you to have a heart to heart talk with your Mum and explain to her, in detail the discomfort you are experiencing. Request to see your PCP and I am confident that she will agree to making an appointment.
Best of luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing and how your talk with your Mum goes. Take Care, Tuck
