okay i am confused i guess i should have said i was on oxycodone now pharmacy is giving me endocet i thought oxycodone had tylenol in it. what is diff in endocet. I thought it was same as percocet and oxycodone
I was also on a rather large dose of percocets and as worried about the amount of tylenol I was consuming everyday. I brought this up to my doctor and he switched me to oxycodone. It's the same medicine (same narcotic) as in percocet, but with none of the tylenol. He told me to remember to take a tylenol should Iever get a headache though!
Thanks Sandy
Thanks i feel better about making that call. Lesnbek
I also wanted to add that a PM doctor will most likely put you on an extended release medication. The amount of Tylenol in the dosage your having to take is not good for your liver as stated by your doctor.
This will make a huge difference in your pain levels I believe.
Hi Lesnbek,
I am so sorry your going through so much. Living in pain 24/7 is very difficult to say the least.
Pain management doctors differ just like other doctors but the main goal in PM is to have you function and have a quality of life you would not without medical help.
Pain management doctors strictly treat pain and they offer you options that your PCP will not. They understand how pain effects every aspect of your life and they try and get you to a point where you can function as normally as possible.
You will be treated like a chronic pain Pt and not a drug seeker.
The doctors in PM are usually very understanding and do everything they can to help you.
PM doctors also keep up on all the new procedures and medications that are available in PM.
There are some PCP or DO's that treat pain as well. Tuck sees a DO and she is very happy with her doctor. I would suggest making the appointment and go from there.
I think you will be very pleased:)
