My dr is terrible!

IS there anyone in the atlanta area, specifically north of atlanta in cumming, near alpharetta, who knows of a good pain management clinic who is not scared out of their mind to prescribe medicine. I broke 3 vertabrea almost 3 years ago and ruptured a disc. My records say i have something called sponylosis, degen disc disease, bulging disc, and arthritis forming around the injury. I am only 25 years old, and I was on methadone for the pain, and it was a life changer from the previous short acting percocets. I'd rather not be on methadone because of the long half life and recently moved to atl area and my new pain dr is not high on prescriptions. He wants to do all kinds of injections that have never helped in the past. are there some kind of new injections that he wants to do that may help or what? He gave me something called nucynta and that was crap. Im just not impressed with this dr. He has not done a single examination on me. hasnt tested anything what so ever. really has not even look me in the eyes. might not even know my name.. im just tired of drs being scared of the govnt and not prescribing. they need to be more personable and realize every patient is diff and responds differently to treatment.. So if anyone in my area has had success with drs please please help....

thanks for the comment. Yea anyone who is in their 20's drs immediately label you without looking at your history. i broke my back skiing in Co and couldnt walk for 3 months. i look back at that moment and how i was so positive i was paralyzed and then soooo relieved when i could wiggle my toes. It was such a bad accident i dont understand why drs have such a hard time looking at it and understanding! please anyone in ATL north area help!

I'm sorry I can't help you with the doctor but I can tell you that my primary doctor prescribed me nuycenta for kidney stones one time last year and that medicine did absolutely nothing for me too. Except cost me an arm and a leg.  I used to take ultram and I think the ultram was a MUCH better medication and 60.00 cheaper than the nucyenta.  The doctor office told me that this medication was going to be a great medication and I was also very disappointed and it was just so expensive.  I'm not sure what it is supposed to do, but I felt like I was taking an expensive aspirin.  I'm sorry you've had so much trouble with your doctor.  I also have bulging discs and degenerative disc disease so I understand how you feel.  Many of us on the forum have disc issues and we definitely know about chronic pain.  There are many people here who also have had the same issue with age, too.  I guess there are many pain doctors that are hesitant to prescribe medication for younger people.  I'm 39 and of course do receive medication but I have heard that from many people in their 20's.  So good luck, I hope the doctor situation gets better and you will get the medication that you need to control your pain.

Good luck and please keep posting!
