Still having issues after my accident. Need advice!

I am a 28 year old female. I was involved in a car accident back in June of this year. I hit head on at 50-55mph. I have had the back aches, neck aches, nerve pain, but also a pain that has been off and on just below my rib cage on the left side, and above my waistline more towards the side and front. . As I said, it has been off and on, ever since the accident occurred. Tonight, it feels different. It feels swollen deep inside right there, it is tender to the touch, and I feel it everytime I move. Plus I have been nauseated tonight, and sweating off and on. Just don't feel right. I did a CT scan a few weeks ago, but I don't think anything showed up in that area. Is it possible that I could have an injury there that is starting to get worse? I've always been healthy. Only surgery I have ever had was gall bladder removal in July '09. I'm trying to hold off from going to the ER until tomorrow am if possible, so that I may speak with my dr. first. I am just not sure if that is the wise thing to do. Could anyone give me advice on what this could be as well? I have no problems going to the bathroom, or any pain after eating. Not sure if this would be mucsle or more internal?

It' definitely time to head back to your doctor.  Since it is now Monday, see if you can get in to see him or her today and save yourself some aggravation and money by avoiding the ER.  While it is always possible for spinal trouble - particularly in the form of herniated discs - to show up many months after the original accident, I'm not entirely convinced this is the trouble.  The nausea and sweating point to something else.

Since your gallbladder is gone, one possibility is that you have developed sludge (small stones) somewhere in the biliary tree that are blocking the flow of bile and pancreatic enzymes to the small intestine.  The pancreas is a very picky organ and rebels if those enzymes can't be released.  Of course, I could be 100% wrong since I'm no doctor.  LOL!

Why would you doubt that seeing your doctor isn't the "wise" thing to do?  Your body is telling you something is wrong, and you need your doctor to figure it out.  Speculation and attempts at self-diagnosis and treatment won't get you anywhere, so make that call today!  :-)

Hi Missdior,

I agree with Jaybay. It is time to have your pain investigated. Nausea and perspiring does not fit the picture in a spinal issue unless your pain and anxiety is so extreme it has induced these symptoms.

It's impossible to determine the exact source of your pain on this forum. Your PCP needs to become involved.  If your PCP cannot get you in today he may refer you to Urgent Care but be sure to notify him. We wish you well and hope that you will let us know the results of your appointment.

Peace,
~Tuck
