No, because it's a synthetic medication (man made) and, as yet is not controlled by the FDA or its counterparts in other countries. It just acts in a similar way to mild morphine or codeine.
Does tramacet has morphine or codeine.
Mollyrae is correct. Tramadol is the generic name. It is a man-made (synthetic) analgesic (pain reliever).
It is also known as known as Ultram, Ultram Er and Tramal and Tramacet. The name depends on what they add to the original ingredient or the manufacture that is producing the tablets. Cost varies.
It is similar in action to morphine or codeine depending on which site you are reading. It does have addictive qualities. It is my belief that in the not to distant future it will be a scheduled narcotic/ controlled substance by the DEA.
I am glad that this medication is effective on your pain. Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much for the information. I always wondered why Tramacet was more costly than the other tramadols .... WAY more costly. Hmmm. Just give me generic old tramadol ... I can add the acetominophen all by myself (if it's really needed)! :)
Hi:
There is no difference in the Tramadols with the exception of Tramacet....that has Tylenol in it for added relief.
My best,
