Hi Lenaxo,
Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post. So sorry to hear about the issues with your surgery.
I am not an physician or an expert. A small amount of blood may be normal. You could have bumped it or strained it. However increased pain, increased edema (swelling) with the bleeding is of more concern and should be reported to your surgeon.
Is the bandage or dressing, whatever they have over it too tight? Make sure it is not restricting your blood flow. Good circulation is an absolute must to bring healing nutrients to the area.
Keep it elevated as you were instructed. Rest your arm. You may have over used it. Even if it feels better remember that the surgery was traumatic to all the structures in the area including the tiniest of tissues. It needs time to heal. Be cautious and follow your surgeons instructions.
Please let us know what your surgeon has to say. We will be watching for your updates.
Take Care,
~Tuck
I would like to welcome you the Pain Management forum. As you already know we are a community of chronic pain patients. I wish there were a doctor at least monitoring this forum but there is not. But we do offer support, advice and friendship to other chronic pain patients.
If I were you I'd call the surgeon first thing in the morning. I'm not a doctor but you could have an infection or other problem that requires immediate medical attention. Do not ignore this. Although it could possibly be normal, it doesn't sound like it to me.
Good luck and let us know what happens.
Sara
