lyrica anyone

uk2
Hi All,

I've never been on here but i have the fibro forum. I still am undx but they feel i have fibromyalgia they had suspected MS but after seven months of testing i'm being refered to a rheumy i also have bulging disks at L4-L5.

My question is i've been on lyrica for 8 months now at 450mg i have put on 2 stone in that time, i have recently reduced it by 75mg and did not notice any difference at first but the last week i have noticed my hand and feet pain come back and my nerve pain which i have not had for a while, do you think this just happened or that by reducing just that little amount that it has caused my pain to return.

My dc is reluctant for me to reduce the tablets as she feels it is controlling the nerve pain if not the muscle pain, but i am concerned of the weight gain and the problems that might bring, i can not exercise at all except for strechting exercises and have cut my diet but it has had no effect.

Any thoughts would be gratefull

Samantha

Thanks, i have recently changed my diet 4 weeks ago and am only eating brown rice, pasta and bread along with lots of raw veg and nuts and fruit but as yet have not lost weight but i'm hoping cutting out the biscuits and caffine should help.

I really want to come off the lyrica as it makes my head really foggy too, its been a year and i still have not got any further in fact worse but who knows i guess how bad i would be without the lyrica as before going on that i could not get out of bed for pain. I'm taking other pain killers too and sedatives to help relax the muscles.

Good luck to you and thanks for responding to my post.

I am also on lyrica. It makes me very tired. I tried to stop taking it but noticed that my nerve pain got worse and my right foot went numb. I am back on lyrica 300mg. Sure it makes me tired and I really haven't noticed weight gain.  You need to eat at balanced diet, drink plenty of fluids, continue your stretchs. Presently I can't even stretch as my stiffness is very bad.

Good Luck and Stay Well
