Upper left thigh pain

For the past six months i have notice some discomfort in my upper left thigh. Lately it has only gotton worse, and i walk around a lot, so its just getting worse. Usually it goes away when i go to sleep, but this morning when i woke up it didn't. Its making a popping noise and its painful. Does anyone know what this could be?

Hi Staci,
Welcome to MedHelp. I am sorry your thigh is hurting You are pretty young to experience pain in your leg or in your joints. By your comment I am assuming it is not a joint, though joints normally make "popping" sounds. The structures in your "upper thigh" are muscle, ligaments, the femur bone, blood vessels and tendons.

There are various disease processes that could account for your pain but most of them are rare. You may have pulled a muscle or you may have other medical issues. There are not physicians here so I suggest that you make an appointment with your PCP. You should discuss your pain with him/her in detail. I would rest your thigh as much as possible until you are evaluated.

Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I wish you the best Take care, Tuck

Have you seen a Dr for this?
The popping sounds could be from a number of things and your pain also. Is it muscle pain your experiencing or in the joints?
