The Substance Abuse Forum is a great forum with kind and caring members, just like the Pain Management Forum. It is filled with ppl just like you, me and every other member of Pain Management. As my wise Grandmother always taught me, "There but by the grace of God, go I."
I for one have never "bashed" another forum and it is not tolerated on MedHelp. I do not want your post to unintentionally begin a thread of community against community. We all have trials and tribulations, we are all human. Any one of us have the potential of abuse. It is my opinion that no one sets out to become addicted. Most of us have or have had family members that have a substance abuse issue.
I apologize if recent posts on this community lead anyone on the SA Community to feel that they were being bashed. I (and MH) are committed to see that threads do not get out of hand. Any individual posts that may have been offensive do not speak for this community.
Nicely said Tuck. I think I know what the problem might be and have tried to address the Substance Abuse forum as to our kindness as well as theirs. Yes, it should not be one community against the other. I too have never bashed the Substance Abuse Forum, I have only sent posters their way on occasion. I hope we can all get along. MH is a great place to help and get help no matter what the situation.......
I have not read any posts here from people bashing anyone from any of the other forums here. What we HAVE done, which, IMO, is a perfectly normal reaction from people in our position, is voiced our displeasure over people "out there in the streets" who make it difficult for us to get our meds because of the way they obtain and take them illegally. Perhaps that's what they're talking about? Could it be that someone is referring to that and is taking it personally?
Hi,my name is Kim and I am a recovering addict and a member of the substance abuse forum. There was a bit of a misunderstanding the other night, emotions ran high and feelings took over. The members of your forum as well as the substance abuse forum are very passionate about why we come to MH,and rightfully so.I'm proud to say though, that the parties involved communicated and worked things out and I think we all learned a thing or two from and about each other.I want to thank Nick,Molly, and scaredmom for their part in resolving things.Working together is whats best for all of us.Thank you for listening.....Kim
Thanks Kim., yes there is a thread on substance abuse side stating we were bashing them, I tried to explain the problems of chronic pain suffer but that i would never bash them, just wanted to let pain management side know what was going on, I didnt want to start anything . maybe this one person did take it a little to personally about how hard it is sometimes for a person who need narcotics to get them. I don't know. Again I didnt mean to cause trouble..the thread over there is labeled disturbed if you want to read it. thanks and sorry again
I posted it in the pain management forum not to cause trouble but to make them aware that maybe someone's feeling were hurt because of something said. that is all, maybe I worded it incorrectly but I don't want anyone to get hurt or think the pain management forum is against the substance abuse forum
There are no bad feelings towards the Pain Management Forum at all. We know that when we send someone to your forum they will be taken care of. You all have been very honest and respectful to me......
Scaredmom......you know we all love you.......sara
Tuckamore's statement was very well put and to the point. I agree with her 100%.
The PM community and the SA community sometimes overlap as a chronic pain sufferer may have addiction issues and so they may do well to post in both communities and I know Tuck and I both want to welcome that and to add any input that may help on either side.
There is much caring here and in the SA community so lets just share it and try to get what we came for here. Support and kind, understanding people to talk to that knows what we are going through. I can't tell you how much it means to someone who is alone and needs someone to understand how they feel and what they are going through because we all know. We have all been there before joining the great communities here at Med Help.
Need more info.
Thanks,
Molly
