Weird pains from outta no where hit me all in different places.

ok where do I began.

I have had these weird pains all over my body. Its not resent I have had them for as long as I remember. I told my Dr. about  them long ago  When I had insurance and he wrote it off said they was growing pains- no explaination for them.
let me give an example:

Yesterday I was siting at the computer desk and under my brest on my ribs I got this sharp pain, one that hurt so bad that if I breathed it intensed and hurt even more. So i tried not to breath which didn't last long.  It was a sharp stabbing feeling. I had to take small breaths of air for like 15 minutes before it went away on its own. When I have sharp pains on my ribs, that is the worst.

But I am constently having sharp pains in all the parts of my body when Im not injured at all.  I have heard of people who have joint pain my pain is not in the joints, My brother and mother has some small amount of pains sort of like mine. I am a 22 yr old female, I don't have that much of a medical history, because I don't have insurance and can't afford to see a Dr. But from when I did have insurance as a child I have these problems....

When I was 9 I fell of a porch swing and broke my tail bone and had to sit on one of those donuts for like a few months. (Which now I can't even lift anything heavy, or my back will be in pain for weeks.)
Miagranes so severe that I was mri'd problaby total of 25 times  for them when they would get really bad. Now days I just take 2 tylonol pm's and try to sleep it off. When I was 15 I had a drug over dose and had to have my stomach pumped. ( really hung out with the wrong crowd then ) Also I believe that I might have a slight depression.
Also last year around September I blacked out and fell and I went to the Dr. and found out that I was anemic a 7 whatever that means. And i have been taking iron pills but i seem to for get to take them I take them when ever I can remember. like I think i took one some time last month. so I am still anemic.

But anyways I would really appeciate some thoughts on why I have the pain's.
thanks

I am sorry you are having such puzzeling pain. The one diagnosis you do have is anemia. I have not heard of anemia 7 so I would tend to beleive that that is the "count." And it is a low count. It should be 12 -14.  Anemia occurs when the amount of hemoglobin (found in the red blood cells) drops below normal. Hemoglobin is necessary for the transport and delivery of oxygen throughout the body. So if you have anemia it is possible that you are deficient in other important minerals and vitiamins; some of which can cause pain, depression and the other symptoms you are discribing.

It is important that you take the iron medication that the physician ordered. It helps me to incorporate taking my medication into a daily activity, for example you can take your meds as soon as you are finished brushing your teeth every morning.

The pain you feel when lifting following your broken tailbone is not unusual but should  be evaluated.

I understand you do not have insuarnce but often you can obtain assistance through you local social services department or at least information on how you can obtain assistance. Most clinics will offer payment plans. Many hospitals offer free services if you qualify.

You mentioned that other memebers of you family also suffer from the similar or same symptoms. This begs the question if there is a "syndrome" or "condition" that is familar or "runs in the family."

I am not a physician but in my opinion you need a complete and detailed physical. I would call a recommended physician and make an appointment. In the meantime you should try to take your iron meds regularly.

I hope you can get some answers soon. I am sure you are concerned. Please keep us posted and take care. Tuck

Hey Em,

I can't totally relate to everything your saying. I had growing pains too when I was little. It acctually is Restless Leg Syndrome and I  know its hell and agrivating. They now do have medications for it thank God.  The sharp pain in your chest and ribs is most definatly anxiety and painc attacks. You can feel like your having a heart attack....I get them all the time....thats hell too. The sharp pain in your body and joint pain could be R. Arthritis. You can get a blood test for that and also get tested for Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease can mimick and cause neurological pain disorders and it is treatable and mostly curable. I also broke my tailbone when I was 15 or 16. I went to sit down outside on a chair and my brother pulled it from me and my tailbone and all my weight went straight on the cement. Talk about severe pain....i couldn't walk and had to be carried by my parents in a laying position. I can tell somethings off when I sit. I also have severe migraines and menstual migraines. I would have them for a week straight with nausea. I tried all the migraines medicines...Zomig, Imitrex, firocet, esgic plus, etc. Soma helped me but it is such a dangerous drug and if you take too much your heart will stop b/c your heart is a muscle and Soma is a major muscle relaxant. I have recently just been using excedrine migraine. The caffine in it shrinks the blood vessels in the head, but it only works if you drink a glass or more of water. I also take phenergan or visteril for nausea. Ok about the insurance thing....I had no insurance and got a cheap plan with blue cross in 99' . Well I ended up having pre-cervical cancer and blue cross dropped me b/c they said it was a pre existing condition. I have a lot of medical problems and needed to see a doctor. So I had no choice but to go see the doctors at the charity hospital.  I had to wait a long time and go through all kinds of **** but, I was taking care of and got y treatment and medicine free. I know that they also have free clinics to go to and they will do a whole work up on you. Where I live I know you have to get there early and wait. You should have a free hospital where you live, there ususally catholic....like for example in new york there's St. Vincents and where I live it Charity Hopspital and University. I was embarassed going but I needed my health taken care of and after that I didn't care. I am  and was a full- time college student and fought to get medicaid, but i had to be proven disabled. So with all my medical problems and doctors letters, i went to the soacial security office and applied for disability so i could get medicaid. I knew they would deny me first....they do that to everyone. I also knew the only way to get it is to get a lawyer that specializes in getting people with debilitating medical problems S.S. and he did in a few months. The lawyer gets paid only if you do. From the month you file for S. S. you get back pay money and u give the layer 1/3 of it and thats it. If you need anymore help just private message me!
Good luck sweetie!
