Hi Deg,
Obviously you have to give some credence to your imaging results. I would take them with me to your next appointment and ask your physician to explain them.
I believe that a nonunion means that it has not yet healed or better put, when the two parts of a broken bone fail to join back together. Your surgeon may have done his part but it sounds like your body did not do it's part. I cannot be sure this is just my opinion.
When you discuss this with him play dumb (wouldn't be hard for me) and see if he is open and honest with you. If he is not than yes I agree it is time to seek out another physician or surgeon. Are you still experiencing pain? Some times these findings are insignificant. However if you are still having symptoms this may be contributing to them.
Please let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates with interest. Best of luck to you.
Peace,
Tuck
I think you should call that Doctor and ask him to go over the findings. Have him explain it to you. If you are questioning his findings then it's time for a second opinion.
Warmest regards,

I had a discectomy done on that disc in March
Hi deg400:
It sounds as if you may have a slight bulge in the disc. Nothing that is serious or that would require surgery. Did you google your findings. That always helped me.
Please take care,
Mollyrae
