Even when I walk or kneel, their is a mild pain. And for some time, even in my left femoral bone area there is a local pain in front of my leg. Thank you very much for your reply, it will help me a lot.

My husband has knee pain and his also become very painful when driving or sitting too long. He uses heat on them and also takes Glucosamine to help.
Glucosamine supplements are widely used for osteoarthritis, particularly knee osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis, cartilage -- the rubbery material that cushions joints -- becomes stiff and loses its elasticity. This makes the joint prone to damage and may lead to pain, swelling, loss of movement, and further deterioration.

Since the body's natural glucosamine is used to make and repair joint cartilage, taking glucosamine as a nutritional supplement is thought to help repair damaged cartilage by augmenting the body's supply of glucosamine.
This has helped my husbands knee pain and may help you also. Make sure and check with your doctor first though. It is not a prescription drug but it may interfere with other medications so it is best to ask your doctor if you can take it safely.

When I was in my 20's I took tennis in college. I woke up one morning and couldn't move my knees. It was the oddest thing. At the time the doctor wanted me to see a surgeon who wanted to do exploratory surgery to figure out why. My parents wouldn't allow it.  It went away within weeks. My knees do crack a lot, but I don't have pain.

There are so many nerves that run up the front of the leg and in to the knee.  If you have not had it checked out by a sports doctor you might want to.  Try not to have surgery especially if the symptoms aren't bad.  Take care.
